Summary: In recent years, Brazil’s electric energy sector has rapidly expanded, posing challenges in voltage control and reactive power flow in transmission lines. These fluctuations can disrupt system operations, especially during high transmission loads, causing harmonic issues and energy losses. Wind farms, equipped with capacitors, can help by supplying or absorbing reactive power due to their inherent characteristics. This aids in stabilizing the system and compensating for fluctuations. Some wind farms also have capacitor and reactor banks connected to substations, further regulating reactive power supply. This study aims to analyze these phenomena, emphasizing wind farms’s; potential in system regulation. The goal is to enhance stability, minimize energy losses, and meet rising load demands. The outcomes could significantly improve the efficiency and stability of Brazil’s evolving electrical sector.
